Zoning / Subdivision Code Rewrite 2023-2025

The City of Becker released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to rewrite the City's Zoning / Subdivision Codes.  Multiple proposals were submitted by consultants and three different companies were interviewed by the Planning Commission and Staff (Advisory Group).  MSA with sub-consultant Mike Lamb (Mike Lamb Consulting, LLC) were chosen to join with the City in developing new land use, development, subdivision, and zoning regulations for the City of Becker.  The new code will replace the current zoning and subdivision codes with a UDO (Unified Development Ordinance).  The purpose of this document is to combine land use, zoning, development, and subdivision regulations into one place.  The goal is to create a code that is innovative, illustrative, adaptive,  development friendly, and user-friendly that can be used by professional staff, property owners, businesses, developers, and contractors.  The project is anticipated to wrap up at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.
